What are your findings from the data you gathered?

We hope to find that with us helping to advertise a healthy and sustainable lifestyle with implementing gardens into these three elementary schools it will encourage the students, teachers, administration, and parents to live a more healthy and sustainable life.

 

How has this population/place changed over time? How do your observations compare to baseline/historical findings?

A reduction in transportation costs due to the technological advancements of the shipping industry in the past decades and the liberalization of global trade has led to a massive concentration of production of food in places such as Hawaii, where economy of scale and be captured. Trade has given Hawaii consumers access to cheaper foods, as well as a great variety of foods. It is estimated that more than 90% of our food is imported.
